Boyd addresses civil law conference

Lord Advocate speaks at conference to build up Scottish-Dutch legal relations

The Lord Advocate travelled to Netherlands yesterday to speak at an international law conference.

Colin Boyd QC was speaking at the Access to Justice Conference, which aims to raise awareness of the Scottish legal system and to consolidate links with Dutch law specialists.

He said: "This event is an excellent opportunity to rekindle an historical relationship with the Netherlands.

"There has been a very significant example of this link and the co-operation between the two countries - the Lockerbie trial.

"I hope we can build on these links and continue to share knowledge and information that will benefit both our legal systems."
