Society's Journal and Editor shortlisted in PPA awards for 2004
The Journal of the Law Society of Scotland and its Editor, Peter Nicholson, have been shortlisted in two categories for the 2004 Periodical Publishers' Association in Scotland (PPA Scotland) awards.
The Journal is one of four titles in the running for Member Magazine of the Year. As the magazine for members of the Law Society of Scotland it goes to every practising solicitor in Scotland. Peter Nicholson goes head-to-head with four others for the title Business & Professional Editor of the Year.
This, the second year of the awards, attracted 124 entries (a 25 per cent increase) over categories covering business/professional, consumer, online, design and others. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Wednesday 24 November.
PPA Scotland is the Scottish section of the trade body for the magazine industry. Member company Connect Communications, which produces The Journal for the Law Society of Scotland, also received a shortlising for BE Magazine (British Energy) in the category Staff Magazine of the Year.
Peter Nicholson commented: "The nominations are an excellent recognition of recent improvements to The Journal in an exciting year which has also seen the successful launch of The Journal Online website."
