Poor uptake of single survey

Pilot scheme for single survey house transactions still struggling to make an impact with sellers
The pioneering scheme to introduce single-survey home sales is still failing to make an impression with homeowners.
The scheme, introduced in July, has so far only been used by 71 sellers - 62 of whom were in Glasgow, the Herald newspaper reports today.
Only nine have been commissioned in Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness combined.
A spokesman for Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre, which strongly supported the idea, said: "The feedback we get from people is that a lot of potential buyers are still asking what the single survey is."
The Scottish Executive has now launched an advertising campaign to try and improve take-up of the scheme, which was introduced to remove the need for expensive multiple surveys.
