Solicitors can now certify that applicants for British citizenship are native English speakers or fluent in English
The Home Office has decided that solicitors, as well as notaries public, should be able to certify that applicants for British citizenship are native English speakers or fluent in English. Regulations now require a sufficient knowledge of English as one of the conditions for granting citizenship.
