Mental Welfare Commission has issues guidance booklet on when applications for welfare guardianship and intervention orders should authorise significant interventions

Due to the uncertainty about the circumstances in which applications for welfare guardianship and intervention orders should authorise significant interventions for adults who lack the capacity to make their own decisions, the Mental Welfare Commission has issued a booklet offering guidance on this matter. The booklet is entitled “Authorising Significant Interventions for Adults Who Lack Capacity” and can be obtained from the Mental Welfare Commission, K Floor, Argyle House, 3 Lady Lawson Street, Edinburgh EH3 9SH (tel 0131 222 6111; www.mwcscot.org.uk).
