Lord Advocate admits lifestyle caused diabetes

Scotland's senior law officer blames diabetes on ministerial lifestyle

Lord Advocate Colin Boyd has blamed his ministerial lifestyle as a reason for his developing diabetes.

He told the Scottish Parliament during a debate that he had had the condition for almost two years.

"Although I read a book which reassuringly said 'this is not your fault', the fact is that type 2 diabetes is closely linked with lifestyle and obesity", he said.
