Stabbing in appeal court building following hearing
A guard from the security firm Reliance has been stabbed in an incident in Scotland's supreme courts.
Alan Dixon, from Penicuik, Midlothian was recovering in hospital from his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.
An unnamed prisoner was restrained by court officials and police officers following the incident, after his appeal hearing.
The attack has sparked further concerns about prisoner security in Scotland and comes just a month after a prisoner attacked a fellow inmate in a holding cell in Glasgow High Court.
