Edinburgh firm honoured for IT project

Brodies LLP highly commended for legal IT

Brodies LLP, the Edinburgh-based commercial law firm, has received a highly commended award in the communication category at the 2004 Legal IT Forum Awards.

The award was presented for its remote working and disaster recovery project that was developed in collaboration with internet service provider Lumison.

Commenting on the award, Brodies Director of IT Andrew Powell said: “We are delighted to receive recognition at the Forum for incorporating progressive and innovative IT solutions into our business.

"We have worked closely with Lumison to design an infrastructure which allows us to develop the remote working thinking in our business strategy, which in turn is very good for our clients and users."

Last year, Legal IT undertook a survey of leading IT directors, finding that network and security issues were by far their highest priority. Over 80% of respondents cited resilience as a "high" or "very high" priority, closely followed by security with over 65%.
