Three Edinburgh solicitors have received extended rights of audience
Three Edinburgh solicitors received extended rights of audience yesterday during a ceremony at Parliament House.
George Alexander Way of Beveridge & Kellas, Ian Paul Leach of HBM Sayers and Julie Elizabeth Harris of Allan McDougall, raise the number of solicitor advocates qualified in Scotland to 171, with 103 practising criminal law, 66 civil law and two holding both qualifications.
Duncan Murray, The Law Society of Scotland's president, said: "The rising number of solicitor advocates widens the choice of representation and enhances access to justice at a time of continuing demand.
