Victim service extends again

Support service opens in Dunoon and Rothesay

The advice and information available for victims of crime in the Argyll and Clyde region has been strengthened following the extension today of the Greenock based Victim Information and Advice (VIA) service to Dunoon and Rothesay.

VIA, part of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, provides a dedicated service to certain victims of crime, bereaved next-of-kin and vulnerable witnesses, offering information on the progress of their case, the range of practical and emotional support available, and the criminal justice system in general.

Sue Moody, Director of VIA said: "The VIA staff at Greenock will show them the way through the system by offering information and advice to those who need it most.  They will meet with victims and others in Dunoon or Rothesay whenever necessary or be in contact by telephone or letter."
