Michael Graham of MacRoberts is new Institute of Directors chairman in Glasgow and West of Scotland

<p>Michael Graham, Director – Business Law at MacRoberts Solicitors, Glasgow, has been appointed chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Glasgow and West of Scotland Region in succession to Andy Sturgess of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.</p> <p>Mr Graham commented: “It gives me great pride to be appointed to this post. The Institute of Directors is a highly influential organisation with the potential to shape government policy and protect the interests of Scotland’s diverse business community.</p><p>"My task now is to get out and meet with other local business people, and use my position to ensure that the relevant issues which they value are brought to the attention of key decision makers.”</p>
<p>David Watt, Director of the Institute, said: “In order to influence policy matters successfully it is essential that we have a talented and driven network of directors, from a broad range of sectors, across the country who can work to advance our vision of a better deal for Scottish businesses.
