Corporate law firm Henderson Boyd Jackson appoints outsider and non-lawyer as chief executive

Henderson Boyd Jackson has broken with legal tradition by appointing a non-lawyer to the newly created post of chief executive.

Stewart McIntyre, previously chief operating officer at Intelli Corporate Finance in Edinburgh takes the top position.

The move comes after a board decision to abolish the role of managing partner, last held by Philip Dacker.

McIntyre said he is looking forward to adding something to the development of the firm which has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
