Leading construction lawyer one of nine new appointees

Lindy Patterson, a construction partner at Dundas & Wilson and one of Scotland's leading construction lawyers, is one of nine new appointees to the Building Standards Advisory Committee.

The Committee advises Scottish Ministers on the exercise of their functions under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003, reviews the operation of regulations under the Act and makes recommendations to Ministers. It provides a technical input to proposals for regulations, but with a strong remit to consider potential effects of legislation and its interaction with related law.

The other appointees have a range of technical expertise in building matters. The appointments, which are unpaid, are for a three year period from 1 January.
