Man who attacked lawyer's office with a sledgehammer spared jail

A man who threw motor oil over his solicitor's office building and smashed his way inside with a sledgehammer was put on probation for two years.

Neil Cameron committed the attack on McIntosh McTaggart's premises in Aberdeen after becoming enraged at the alleged lack of progress being made by his lawyer Anne McTaggart in a case against Fife Council.

He was suing the council following the alleged rape of a female relative by his adopted son.

His defence agent said he had told the council that he and his wife could not take on a disabled child or one with emotional or behavioural difficulties but had been given an 'entirely inappropriate child."
