Three lawyers among eight new members of Parole Board
Eight new members (three legal and five lay) have been appointed to the Parole Board for Scotland.
The new legal members are: Sheriff Principal John McInnes, QC, Sheriff Fiona Reith, QC, and Lyndy Roberts, a qualified solicitor who has worked as a reporter to the children's panel, a welfare rights officer and a solicitor to Aberdeen City Council.
The new lay members are: Corinne France, a qualified social worker; Frances Stuart, a qualified social worker and former member of the Inverness Prison visiting committee; Howard Llewellyn, a barrister whose current appointments include chair and member of Highland Children's Panel; Irene Kitson, a former councillor, and a JP who has served on prison visiting committees; and Christine Vine, a qualified solicitor in England by profession, currently a part time lecturer at the University of Dundee and a part time reporter to the children's panel.
The appointments run from 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2011. Members are required to work between 8 and 12 days per month, at a daily rate of £277 for legal members (apart from serving members of the judiciary) and £178 for lay members.
