Families of murder victims should receive expenses to attend courts, says a new report

A new report is calling for better treatment for families and particularly children of murder victims, according to today's Herald.

The report from the Homicide Working Group says families of murder victims should receive expenses to attend courts and be given special access there to avoid confrontation with the alleged killers.

The group is urging that a special fund is set up to pay for relatives' expenses for a court case and for local authorities to offer specific support for children affected by murder.
