Sniffer dogs greet visitors to Aberdeen Sheriff Court

For the first time ever visitors to Aberdeen Sheriff Court were given a welcome by sniffer dogs.

Black labrador Keira and border collie Rex were brought to the court to deter people from bringing illegal drugs into the building.

However the dogs didn't manage to detect anyone with drugs although Sergeant Steven Gillies of the Aberdeen courts police unit said it had been a useful exercise.

Further operations of this kind will be carried out at later intervals.
