Euro-judge joins mediation panel
Sir David Edward on Core Mediation's independent panel
Sir David Edward QC, formerly British judge in the European Court of Justice, and now an accredited mediator, has joined the Core Mediation panel of mediators as an independent mediator.
Sir David, admitted as an advocate at the Scottish bar in 1962, also sits as a temporary judge in the Court of Session.
John Sturrock QC, Core’s Chief Executive, said: “As one of the most distinguished lawyers of a generation, Sir David’s decision to become a mediator is a fascinating indication of how things are changing. We are delighted to welcome him.”
Core reports a 50% increase in mediations in the past year in commercial, professional services and public sector matters in Scotland. Areas of significant growth include: senior level employment cases, professional indemnity claims, organisational and management issues, construction contracts and company, partnership or quasi-partnership disputes.
