Murray Beith Murray, the Edinburgh-based solicitors and asset managers, is to form a new limited liability partnership from its commercial department.
On 1 August 2005 the department will become a new firm called MBM Commercial LLP, providing legal services to commercial clients. The LLP will have four partners under Sandy Finlayson, currently Head of Commercial Services. Murray Beith Murray's core business will continue to be the provision of legal, taxation and financial services to private individuals and families.
Hugh Younger, senior partner at Murray Beith Murray, believes the new structure will allow the businesses to grow. "The nature of the firm's private client and commercial businesses is quite different and the creation of MBM Commercial is intended to enable both sides of the business to operate more effectively and to invest more resources in their specialist areas.
"MBM Commercial will continue to be based at 107 George Street and will maintain a close working relationship with Murray Beith Murray."
