HBOS lawyer joins Morton Fraser’s retail banking team
Morton Fraser has strengthened its Glasgow team with the appointment of Barbara Bell as a senior solicitor.
Ms Bell, who is currently a senior member of the HBOS plc Retail Banking Legal Team, will join Morton Fraser at the start of May.
She joined Bank of Scotland in 1989, moving to the retail banking legal team in 2001. She has provided input into various projects which arose from the merger of Bank of Scotland and Halifax plc, as well as legal support to the private banking and specialised lending departments of the bank, recently in particular the regulation of mortgages.
Barbara Bell commented: “I am delighted to be joining the Retail Banking Team at Morton Fraser. I have known a good number of the banking team for some time and am really looking forward to joining them at this exciting time as it grows and takes on more consumer credit and retail banking work.”
Morton Fraser’s banking and finance partner Jeremy Fraser said: "We are delighted that Barbara has chosen to join Morton Fraser. She will bring invaluable in-house experience which will add to the existing retail banking expertise within our firm, as we continue to grow this side of the business."
