Aberdeen energy lawyer to become adviser to Louisiana State University


Uisdean Vass, an Aberdeen energy lawyer, has been appointed an adviser to Louisiana State University (LSU).

The Dingwall-born head of oil and gas with Maclay Murray & Spens, graduated from LSU in 1985 and hopes to open up opportunities for Scottish legal students on the other side of the Atlantic.

Mr Vass, who is dual qualified in Scotland and Louisiana, will return to the US state shortly to meet with professors there involved in driving international initiatives to develop the reach of the law school's graduate programme.

This will include offering intermediate programmes to students abroad in association with allied overseas universities, particularly in Scotland and Europe.
