Claim that criminal justice system treats assaults on officers as a hazard of the job
Police yesterday called for prosecutors to take a harder line on attacks on police officers.
Speaking at the Scottish Police Federation annual conference, they accused the criminal justice system of looking the other way when it came to attacks on police.

More than 8,000 assaults were recorded against police in Scotland last year.
