Blow to death row Scot

Fresh appeal will keep Richey on death row
Prosecutors will appeal to the US Supreme Court in the case of death row Scot Kenny Richey.
Ohio attorney general Jim Petro has filed a stay with the 6th Circuit Court of Criminal Appeals, seeking to quash the decision to overturn Richey's conviction.
Richey was told earlier this week that the court had denied the state's request to rehear the appeal, meaning he had to be retried within 90 days or set free.
Richey, 40, who was sentenced to death for the killing of a two-year-old girl in a fire-raising attack in 1986, has always maintained his innocence.
