"Outstanding" student wins scholarship to study at Harvard

Adam Balfour, who is in his final year of a law degree at Dundee University, has won a scholarship to Harvard.

He is one of only a dozen students in the UK to be awarded the scholarship by the Kennedy Memorial Trust to do a postgraduate study at the Ivy League university.

Mr Balfour will continue his studies in a number of areas of law at the university, including human rights, the EU and the suppression of social diversity.

Fiona Raitt of Dundee University's law department said that Adam was "one of the most outstanding" undergraduates to study in Dundee in recent years.
