Shepherd and Wedderburn to hold seminar on making maximum use of IT resources
Shepherd+ Wedderburn is to host a series of seminars in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh to help companies make maximum use of their IT resources.
The seminars follow research conducted by the firm which has highlighted that four out of 10 UK companies expect their IT spend to increase by up to 30% in the next 12 months.
Liz McRobb, a partner at Shepherd+ Wedderburn will be one of the speakers at the event. She said: “The shift towards increased IT spending by organisations in 2005 is a sign that confidence is returning to the sector following the dip in recent years due to factors such as the dotcom crash and worsening economic conditions.
"With a quarter of our respondents declaring an IT budget in excess of £2.5 million per year, it is clear that IT investment is once again a priority for UK businesses."
Outsourcing is also a common occurrence for IT decision-makers, with many companies finding that efficiency savings can be achieved when all or part of their IT requirements are externalised. A total of 67% of organisations were found to outsource IT services, with the UK as the preferred region but offshore outsourcing becoming increasingly common.
Based on the results of the survey, Shepherd+ Wedderburn, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers, is holding the free seminar on IT spend trends, how to ensure maximum ROI, as well as offshoring - examining both the beneficial and the inhibiting factors. The seminars will take place in Aberdeen on 24 May at the Thistle Aberdeen Caledonian, in Glasgow on 26 May at the Radisson SAS Hotel and in Edinburgh on 31 May at Saltire Court.
