Managing Partner joins Royal Bank of Scotland as Director of Legal Services
Dundas & Wilson's Managing Partner Chris Campbell is leaving to join The Royal Bank of Scotland Group on 1 August 2005 as Director of Legal Services and Deputy General Counsel, the legal firm announced today.
Mr Campbell, who has spent his entire career at the firm, one of the two largest in Scotland, since graduating from Edinburgh University in 1980, was appointed Managing Partner in 1996. His most notable achievement was the successful relaunch of Dundas & Wilson following the collapse of the Anderson Legal network in the wake of the Enron affair.
The current Chairman, Neil Cochran will assume the role of Chief Executive until May 2006, at which point a new Managing Partner will take up office.
Neil Cochran said: "This is a great opportunity for Chris, who has spent the past 25 years with D&W. It is also a tremendous compliment to the firm and whilst we will be sad to see him go at the end of July, we are confident that D&W will build on its success over the last decade.
"Indeed, we will announce shortly a record set of results for the financial year just ended and will be driving forward our long-term strategy for growth both in Scotland and from our burgeoning London office."
Speaking of his move, Chris Campbell said: "It was not an easy decision to leave the firm at which I’ve spent my whole professional life but this is a superb opportunity to join one of the world’s leading banks in a challenging role."
