Charity donation from law firm

Shepherd+ Wedderburn gives support to Special Olympics

Shepherd+ Wedderburn has donated £5,000 to the Special Olympics Great Britain Games, which are being held in Glasgow this July.

Patrick Andrews, chief executive, Shepherd+ Wedderburn, said: "We are very pleased to make a donation to such a worthy cause. The Great Britain Games will be one of the largest sporting events taking place in the UK this year, and we applaud the dedication and commitment of all the athletes taking part."

Gordon McCormack, Games Director, Special Olympics Great Britain Games, said: "We are very grateful to Shepherd+ Wedderburn for their generosity. Businesses are finding that the opportunity to be associated with the Special Olympics branding, with artists like Texas performing at the opening ceremony, plus the marketing presence at nine sporting venues with an audience of tens of thousands of people over eight days, offers very good value for money."

Nineteen teams from throughout Great Britain will take part in the Great Britain Games, with eight teams from Scotland, one from Wales and 10 from England. As well as 2,500 athletes and coaches, around 3,000 parents, carers, supporters and friends from the 19 regions of the UK are expected to visit Glasgow in July.
