Written answer admits ISP contacted over content of anti-lawyer site
Questions have been asked about the role of the Scottish Court Service in attempting to close down a website that claims to expose wrongdoings of Scottish lawyers.
In a parliamentary answer Justice Minister Cathy Jamieson acknowledged that SCS officials had contacted the internet service provider for the site run by Scotland Against Crooked Lawyers over its potentially defamatory content, but denied that any demands were made to terminate the site.
Conservative MSP Phil Gallie, who raised the matter, commented that any charges of defamation should be for the individuals concerned to protest about, not the court system.
