Menzies Dougal to transfer business to Gillespie Macandrew WS
Gillespie Macandrew WS will boost its annual turnover to £7 million with its third merger in 18 months.
Menzies Dougal will transfer its business to Gillespie Macandrew on 1 August. Two of the partners, Colin Mackay and Gerrard Clark will become partners in Gillespie Macandrew, while Alan McLaren will take on a role as a consultant in the amalgamated firm.
The latest expansion follows mergers with Bennett & Robertson LLP in March 2005 and Garden Haig WS in March 2004. The new firm will be looking to focus on growing its leading areas of expertise and bringing access to its wider range of legal, tax and financial services to the clients of its three merger partners.
The Bruntsfield offices of Menzies Dougal will close and the Comiston Road office will remain open for several months. The new expanded firm is expected to relocate to expanded premises in order to accommodate all its personnel under one roof.
Simon Leslie, Senior Partner at Gillespie Macandrew WS, said: "This represents a further step to pursuing our goal of building a significant platform of high quality legal and financial services in Scotland."
