New leaflets part of Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2004 implementation


Generic information booklets for child witnesses, including a book for parents of child witnesses, have been produced by the Scottish Executive.

The aim of the booklet is to provide under 16-year-olds and their parents with information abiout being a witness, including details of what special measures they may be entitled to.

The booklets available are:

Criminal Proceedings - for children up to 11 years old
Criminal Proceedings - for young people aged 12 to 15
Children's Hearings Court Proceedings - for children up to 11
Children's Hearings Court Proceedings - for young people from 12-15
A general booklet for parents and carers covering both child witnesses in criminal and children's hearings court proceedings is also available
