Solicitor General leads workshop on victim witnesses at international prosecutors conference
The Solicitor General Elish Angiolini QC leads a workshop at an international conference in Denmark today.
Ms Angiolini will be chairing a session called "Victims as Witnesses" at the 10th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors, held this year in Copenhagen. The theme of the conference is "Witnesses, Experts and Victims".
Norman McFadyen, the Crown Agent, is also chairing a workshop on "Protection for Victims - Co-habitants".
Ms Angiolini said: "In Scotland we have taken measures to tackle concerns victims can have about the court experience through our Victim Information and Advice service, and other joint work with criminal justice partners and support agencies. Taking part in this conference will give us the opportunity to learn more about what steps are being taken elsewhere in the world and share our experiences."
