Morag McLaughlin has been appointed Area Procurator Fiscal for Grampian by the Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd QC, effective from today, 1 September.
Ms McLaughlin, previously Head of the Policy Unit at Crown Office, has worked in the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for 15 years.
Mr Boyd said: "Morag is a well respected member of the department who will build on the effective relationships with criminal justice partners in Grampian to improve the service that the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service delivers to local communities."
Morag McLaughlin said: "This is a very exciting time to be working in the prosecution service and in the criminal justice system generally. We are working ever more closely with partners in other agencies and with local communities, to ensure a modern, effective and efficient service in which communities can have confidence."
