Robert Burns takes accolade at Scottish Deals & Dealmakers Awards


MacRoberts' partner Robert Burns has been named Emerging Dealmaker of the Year at the Scottish Deals & Dealmakers Awards 2005.

The 32 year old, made partner only last year and the only lawyer among the three finalists, was described by the judges as someone who "thinks and acts like a true dealmaker".

Mr Burns has acted in relation to numerous MBOs, acquisitions, disposals and corporate fundraisings, as well as advising in relation to share buybacks, group restructurings and joint venture arrangements.

Managing partner Michael Murphy said: "Robert has proven himself to be a tremendous asset to the firm and is now part of the leadership of our team of dynamic and experienced corporate lawyers".
