An Aberdeen lawyer is about to follow the original trail of early Everest expeditions to raise money for charity.
Peter Littlejohn, a partner with Raeburn Christie Clark and Wallace, flies to Nepal this weekend to begin his 19-day trek to the base camp 18,192 feet up the mountain. The money raised will go to leukaemia charity, the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Mr Littlejohn previously raised money for the trust in June when he was strapped to the wing of a 1940s biplane at the annual Emmerdale Extravaganza in Deeside. Between that and this trip, he hopes to raise more than £6,000 for the charity.
His previous charitable challenges have included a 227-mile cycling trip in Cuba to raise money for the Meningitis Trust in 2001. The lawyer said he was looking forward to the trip, but that he knew it would be hard going and physically demanding.
Anyone who would like to sponsor Mr Littlejohn can contact him on 01224 332400 or email peter.littlejohn@raeburns.co.uk .
