Highland bull steer drives the fundraising at legal-sponsored charity ball
"Prince Harry" was auctioned off for charity at the third Great Wilderness Challenge ball at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel last weekend.
The event, hosted by Glasgow legal firm Harper Macleod LLP, in association with the Tulloch Group and Odgers Ray & Berndston, appears set to have raised over £35,000 to benefit of the Highland Hospice, Colon Cancer Concern, the Anthony Nolan Trust and the Children' Hospice Association Scotland.
"Prince Harry", a red-haired Highland bull steer bred in Inverness, was one of the prizes on the night and kicked off the auction by securing £1,400. Other prizes included two nights at Skibo Castle, an hour flight in a Nimrod simulator and a weekend trip for 12 at Glencalvie Estate.
Professor Lorne Crerar, Managing Partner at Harper Macleod commented: “The sums raised demonstrate the generosity of those supporting such worthy causes. It proved to be a very memorable evening and I believe it is the first time that the Hilton’s stunning ballroom has been the venue for auctioning off a Highland cow!”
