Paisley Sheriff Court bans teenager from entering certain areas of Renfrewshire
A 14-year-old from Renfrewshire has become the first child in Scotland to receive an interim antisocial behaviour order (ASBO).
Paisley Sheriff Court has banned the boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - from assaulting or endangering others, using threatening words or actions, damaging other people's property, moving property he does not own, entering land without being invited, making noise likely to cause alarm or annoyance and inciting others to do the same.
He also forbidden to enter certain areas of Renfrewshire.
If the boy breaches any of the conditions of the ASBO, he will appear before a children's panel. The issue of this ASBO yesterday is the first for an under-16-year-old since ASBO legislation was introduced in October last year.
A spokesperson for Renfrewshire Council said it had taken the decision to pursue the ASBO only after very careful consideration with its partner agencies.
