Reports will not be ready as key documents are tied up in divorce proceedings
An inquiry into an MEP's alleged expenses fraud has been delayed because of ongoing arguments over his divorce, according to an article in today's Herald.
The European Parliament has demanded that the official auditors hired to examine the accusations against David Martin, Scotland's longest serving MEP, must produce a report by today. However, the article states that it is understood this report wil not be ready becuse key documents are tied up in Mr Martin's acrimonious divorce proceedings.
It is alleged that Mr Martin claimed twice for staff ahead of last year's European election.
