Parole Board appointment for Anne Keenan

New role for Law Society of Scotland's Deputy Director of Law Reform
Anne Keenan is the new legal member of the Parole Board for Scotland.
Mrs Keenan is currently the Deputy Director of Law Reform with the Law Society of Scotland and has worked previously with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
The appointment, made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland's Code of Practice, runs from 1 November this year until 31 October 2011.
Mrs Keenan will work 8-12 days per month on Parole Board duties, remunerated at a rate of £284 per day.
Justice Minister Cathy Jamieson said: "Mrs Keenan brings to the Board an extensive knowledge of and practical experience from the Scottish criminal justice system. She will be able to draw on her extensive legal experience, both from her time with the Law Society of Scotland and from the time she spent with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service."
