"Best Members' Magazine" nomination for second year running
For the second year running the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland has been shortlisted as "Best Members' Magazine" in the annual awards run by the Periodical Publishers Association Scotland.
PPA Scotland is the Scottish section of the trade body for the magazine industry. Member company Connect Communications, which produces The Journal for the Law Society of Scotland, also received a shortlisting for the Standard Life Group's "Standard" in the category Staff Magazine of the Year.
The Journal, sent to all practising members of the Law Society of Scotland, is one of six titles in the running for the award. The others cover a diverse field including the Church of Scotland's "Life and Work", "Scottish Club Golfer", "Surgeons' News", "Historic Scotland" and "Scotland in Trust".
Peter Nicholson, the Journal's editor, said: "The nominations show what a wide range of titles the Journal is being compared against and it is very pleasing that with such a specialist content it can hold its own in this competition."
The award winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Edinburgh on 30 November.
