Accountant in Bankruptcy to move to Kilwinning

Agency move is latest part of Executive's policy of government decentralisation

The Scottish Executive's Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) agency will be moving to a newly completed building in Kilwinning in February 2006.

The move is in line with the Executive's relocation policy, under which ministers aim to decentralise government and give public sector jobs to communities in need. AiB's main responsibilities are to supervise the process of sequestration in Scotland and to act as trustee in bankruptcy when appointed by the court.

AiB has been operating from a temporary office in Irvine since November 2004. Some 80 staff will move to the Kilwinning building in February 2006. However, AiB anticipates further local recruitment during the first six months of 2006.
