David Gourlay joins from Dundas & Wilson
Corporate law firm McClure Naismith has appointed the firm’s first Edinburgh-based IP/IT partner, David Gourlay.
David Gourlay joins the firm's expanding IP/IT practice from Dundas & Wilson, where he was a senior associate. With significant experience of major IT projects, brand disposals and acquisitions, sponsorship and merchandising arrangements, Mr Gourlay also has particular expertise in data protection and freedom of information compliance.
McClure Naismith's Edinburgh office has seen rapid growth this year, adding two new partners and five additional lawyers in the last three months, and is set to relocate to new purpose-built offices in Ponton Street in 2006. The firm's overall fee income rose by 13% to more than £12 million.
Senior partner Dr Kenneth Chrystie said: “The appointment of David Gourlay is an important hire for the firm and demonstrates our commitment to be one of a handful of firms with a strong pedigree and reputation in this fast growing sector.”
