Promotions for three Biggart Baillie lawyers

Assistant solicitors take on associate roles from 1 January


Biggart Baillie has announced the promotion of three of its assistant solicitors to associate with effect from 1 January 2006.

Jennifer Spence has been with Biggart Baillie for seven years, having trained at the firm. A member of employment unit, she also specialises in child protection law, acting for the Principal Reporter (The Scottish Children's Reporter Administration) in appeals to the Court of Session and sheriffs principal.

Claire Mitchell joined the firm's Edinburgh corporate team in 2001. She specialises in corporate, commercial and banking work, including share and business acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and funding arrangements, working with a range of clients from banking to tourism.

Rachel Gervaise joined the Glasgow corporate team in 2001 and has worked on a variety of corporate, corporate finance and banking matters. More recently, she has been working within the corporate finance team for clients involved in the property, entertainment and banking sectors.

Biggart Baillie has a total staff of over 260 including 130 fee-earners.
