Judge reverses decision on anonymity for Angela Baillie

The solicitor who pled guilty to supplying drugs to a prisoner at Barlinnie jail has been named.

At a hearing in the High Court at Paisley this morning Lord Kinclaven reversed his decision yesterday to grant anonymity to 32-year-old Angela Baillie of Newton Mearns, near Glasgow.

The judge had orginally allowed Baillie's identity not to be reported in the press because she may play a part in other criminal proceedings. Today he reconsidered his decision following representations by the media.

The solicitor - who works for a Glasgow firm - has admitted smuggling in 14g of heroin and 158 diazepam tablets. She is due back in court on 27 March for sentencing.
