Security review for Dundee Sheriff Court

9 Feb 06

Court service to report after three found with knives in past 14 months

Security measures at Dundee Sheriff Court are to be reviewed after it was revealed that three people have been found carrying weapons in the building.

Since December 2004, three teenagers have been found with knives at the location. The inspection of security arrangements at Dundee is due to start on Friday 17 February.

The Scottish Court Service said that a report should be completed within a week and the findings will be discussed with sheriffs and local staff.

Last August the SCS began a nationwide review of security at courts, which is due to complete in May.
