Former young lawyer of the year Hazel Moffat joins from Shepherd+ Wedderburn

Former Young Lawyer of the Year Hazel Moffat has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the firm's regulatory practice.

Ms Moffat joins from Shepherd+ Wedderburn, where she was working as an associate within the firm's public law team. She will be based in Scotland and her remit will cover regulatory issues, especially those that affect public bodies and public affairs.

Bruce Westbrook, DLA Piper Scotland's managing partner, said the firm's reach and client base required the sort of support that Hazel could provide, allowing it to extend the range of services that clients would need in the 21st century.

DLA Piper has also announced the internal promotions of Cameron McNaught, elected as a partner in the insurance litigation team in Edinburgh, and Andrew Wardrop, Peter Demick and Callum Sinclair as associates.
