Kyle Academy one of 16 taking part in competition at Old Bailey

Kyle Academy in Glasgow will be competing against 15 other schools from across the UK in the national final of the Bar Mock Trial Competition at the Old Bailey in London.

The competition involves teams of students aged 15 to 18 taking on the parts of barristers, court staff and jurors to tackle complex court cases. Each school team has been preparing for several months, helped by dedicated barrister volunteers who have worked with the students to help them get ready for their mock trial.

The final, on Saturday 11 March, is the culmination of regional heats in which more than 150 schools competed before being narrowed down to the 16 schools participating in the final.

The competition is sponsored by the Faculty of Advocates in Scotland, the Bar Councils of England and Wales, and Northern Ireland, the Inns of Court and the Circuits.
