Film looks at work of law officials fighting domestic abuse cases
The Edinburgh Filmhouse on Lothian Road is screening a documentary on the criminal justice system of a central African republic from 5-7 March.
Sisters in Law is described as a fascinating and often hilarious look at the work of one small courthouse in Cameroon. The tough-minded state prosecutor Vera Ngassa and court president Beatrice Ntuba are helping women in their Muslim village find the courage to fight often-difficult cases of abuse, despite pressures from family and their community to remain silent.
