Morton Fraser senior appointments

New consultant for Glasgow office and two promoted to partner

Law firm Morton Fraser has appointed Joyce Bain as a consultant to its Glasgow office and promoted senior associates Brian Hutcheson in Glasgow and Sue Hunter in Edinburgh to partners.

Joyce Bain previously worked with two-partner firm Brian Dorman and joins Morton Fraser in the commercial property division. She has been involved in a wide variety of commercial property transactions.

Sue Hunter has been with Morton Fraser since June 2000. She was appointed as an associate in May 2002 and senior associate in December 2004. She works in the private client team with individual clients, trusts and charities with a particular focus on asset and estate protection using lifetime tax planning schemes and tax efficient wills.

Brian Hutcheson joined Morton Fraser in January 2005 as an associate to establish a commercial property base which has since grown to a team of five. He became senior associate in July 2005 and has more than nine years of commercial property experience.

Linda Urquhart, Morton Fraser’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Joyce to Morton Fraser and to promote Brian and Sue to partner. Joyce specialises in property law and has provided excellent service to her clients in matters of residential and commercial property.

"Sue’s promotion demonstrates our continuing commitment to delivering private client services and is well deserved as she is a key member of our private client team. Although Brian has not been with Morton Fraser for very long, he has made a real impact for us in Glasgow and we are pleased to promote him as our first Glasgow 'grown' partner for the firm."
