Global network lawyers gather in Edinburgh

Maclay Murray & Spens to host Lex Mundi's first Scottish event

Lawyers from as far afield as Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand will gather in Edinburgh this week for the first ever regional conference to be held in Scotland by Lex Mundi, the international association of independent law firms.

The event is hosted by Maclay Murray & Spens (MMS), the exclusive Scottish partner of Lex Mundi. It takes place between 11 and 14 May.

Michael Walker, chairman of MMS and chair of Lex Mundi worldwide, said: “It is a real privilege to welcome our international friends to Scotland. This conference offers a real opportunity to explore best practice and the ongoing challenges of doing business internationally.

"Against a backdrop of professional development, we have also created a programme which will offer a real insight into Scotland’s history, culture and future vision.”

The conference is part of a series of four annual Lex Mundi conferences, which are held in addition to the network’s AGM, and also incorporates North America, South America and Asia. This week’s conference is the flagship European event in the business calendar of the network’s 160 member firms.
