Five-year-old girl provides evidence from Edinburgh via video link to Perth
A five-year-old girl made legal history yesterday when she gave evidence at the High Court in Edinburgh as part of a trial being heard in Perth.
It was the first time a video link had been used between two High Court rooms. The girl - one of the youngest to give evidence in a Scottish court - is an alleged victim of sexual abuse and the video link was used to minimise the stress and anxiety of giving evidence.
